I love being able to share our adoption story with people, and it's funny how the opportunities present themselves. I was just paying the furnace repairman and mentioned that we're trying to adopt again. He then shared with me how he was adopted, and how he and his wife had considered adoption when they were unable to conceive. He was telling me the homeopathic remedy they tried (green peppers!) and I said, "You know what? I don't even want to get pregnant anymore. I feel like adoption is the way we were meant to go, and I'm happy with that."
He told me that he met his birth mom when he was grown and that she is a good woman, and a good mother to her other children, but the people who raised him are his real parents. I got a little choked up (I always do, when talking about adoption or hearing other's stories) and told him how good it is to hear positive things from adult adoptees, because there are so many that are bitter and angry and hate their adoptive parents. He said that he could tell I'm a good mom (I don't that he could tell, but it's nice to hear anyway!)

Love your blog folks. I have a special place in my heart for adoptive parents. It takes a special person to love the child of another as they were their very own flesh and blood. Keep loving your fellow man as you do now.. God bless..
